Spaara

At its birth, the Overseers creating the first seven deities: Aen, Penth, Rtihier, Avinel, Lontel, Berth, and Eliam. The world was given to Aen as the first born, under the original name of Spaara’en. As the centuries passed and new deities were created, conflict was inevitable. The world was in chaos. Egos were challenged and trust was brittle. Death was never a thought to the gods, until Aen took her last breath looking over her children that betrayed her.

Spaara was created from the conflict of beings with unquestionable magnificence, but in the eyes of the Overseers, they were nothing but marred children.

To alleviate the situation, the Overseers saw it fit to create separate domains. The factions that divided them all, led to the birth of parallel planes of existence. This is the foundation that the mortals of Spaara know today. The history of Spaara’en was erased, only to serve as a lesson to those who partook in the bloodshed.

Storytime: The Tale of Silas and Paelias

A Drow and Tiefling began their journeys together. Once a petty thief that left no witness behind, Paelias grew tired of their days alone. Working one job to the next they became bored. Orphaned and adopted by nature, Silas grew up in the forest. Befriending a dire wolf named Lykos, the two were inseparable. Masters of their craft, both Silas and Paelias found themselves in a party hired for the same mission.

As they grew, so did their bond. Missions turned from breaking into a government vault to stopping the creation of a lich. Learning from one another, they picked up new skills along the way. Paelias put down their daggers for arcane books, and Silas put more faith into his bow than the shield engraved with his holy symbol.

Soon enough the two of them joining forces for mission was a little over kill. Going solo for efficacy seemed like the best idea, but proved to be a curse of their own arrogance. Taking out a whole battalion was a normal task for Paelias, but this time they miscalculated. They were never one to be able to take a hit. Usually dodging and hiding were their thing, but it only took one slip to make it a head on battle. Paelias thought that was the end, so they sent one last message. To their surprise, Silas was only an arrowshot away. Till this day, he holds it over Paelias’ head of the day he saved him.

Meta Backstory Time

Silas and Paelias were a pair of first Dungeons and Dragons characters created by my friend [Silas] and myself [Paelias]. With the first campaign being a small start for them, the story grew beyond that. We wanted to know where they would be after the played events. Soon enough I took my first steps into DMing and the characters found a home in the Brasswood Forest outside of the main city my first DM campaign took place.

They grew as we, Dungeons and Dragons players, grew. From time to time the question of, “I wonder where Silas and Paelias are?” or “Do you think they would know/ be apart of this?”, would come up.

Ultimately they became the prime deities in our original TTPRG, Guided Rite. As they were in our thought every step into the journey that is Dungeons and Dragons, it seemed fit that they would be there at the start of the next path.

For those interested: Paelias was a name taken out of the 5th Edition Players Handbook because it sounded cool. Paelias is a Rogue (Assassin) / Wizard (School of Chronomancy) and
Silas is a Ranger (Horizon Walker) / Paladin (Oath of the Ancients).
