Locations
Locations change drastically within the Spaara campaigns.
We tend to skip through time. Although the aesthetics and technology change, the location always keeps its fundamental culture.
Amin
Runel, Menoll
Through the fertile jungles of Cassuth down to the lagoons and grassy plains of Dazel, Amin has a rich and diverse terrain. Though we are not starting there, the location we seek is just east of the Estulian Mountian range. Cut off from the rich soil, Menoll is a vast desert surround from tip to tail with rocky terrain. In this vast desert, situated on the coast of the Cerulean Sea is the capitol city, Runel, the city of arches and gateways.
Home to the ruler of the Menollian Empire, King Estron II, and many noble families. Due to the proximity to the ocean, during the high tide, most of the coastal cities in Menoll are swallowed by the sea. Many are built elevated or have protection from the approaching shoreline. The inner ring serves as a levee for the noble homes inside. At a moments notice, the arches that make up the ring close to ensure the safety of Runel’s finest.
At the mouth of the canal located in the Cerulean Sea, is a portal. Beyond lies the Second layer of Hell and the road to the Iron City of Dis. There is active trade between the two empires, and their relations are centuries old.
As time moved on, so did the design of the city. Runel was carved from stone. Every brick was made by hand, but as the weather foretold, water wears even the strongest material. The stone was exchanged for stronger metals, and later the gates that served as levees were trusted to become magical barriers. This became Runel’s greatest attraction, a perfect view into the ocean that threatens to consume the city.
