Awhas, Pipe of Illusions
Artifact, wonderous item (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

Created by a powerful Effreti to trick mortals into believing their wished were granted, the pipe of illusions was left behind after the death of its creator, Osimi. It has been said that illusions formed from the smoke blown out of the pipe can even trick the smartest of targets into their deaths.

The pipe resides in the Plane of Fire, protecting itself from thieves that wish to obtain its power. From the ashes of its creator, Awhas has formed an illusion that stretches across the barren landscape. To any that pass by, they see and interact with a normal town, as they are persuaded to leave. Controlling a few illusory humanoids, the pipe has survived without a user since its creators passing.

Sleeping State
The pipe has 8 charges, regaining 1d6 + 2 charges after a long rest.

At will: the user may cast the cantrip, minor illusion

1 Charge: Create a Clone of the user out of smoke. The user may create up to 2 clones at a time, and if they attempt to create more, the oldest clone will vanish. The user can perceive (both visually and audibly) thought each close, but must remain within a 120ft radius from the original user. Each clone has 10 HP and takes the initiative of the user. All items are replicated on each clone without magical properties.

2 Charges: the user may cast the 3rd level spell, Major Image. The user may use their action to command the illusion, if they choose to attack with the illusion the target must make an Intelligence Saving Throw (equal to user spell save DC) taking 3d10 psychic damage on a failed save, or half damage on a success. The illusion vanishes once a creature physically interacts with it.

[Awhas, Pipe of Illusions has three states: Sleeping, Awaken, and Elevated.
The latter two will not be shared for the purpose of an ongoing campaign]
